Social Networks and the Social Media of Tomorrow.

Let me say this one first.

I love social media. Same for the social networks.

As with any communication medium, it comes with its ups and downs, pros, and cons.

In the past, maybe fifteen years, we have witnessed not just communication progress, but a communication revolution instead.

Now we have Reddit, Twitter, Facebook, Websst, Yelp, VK, LinkedIn, Medium, Quora, Disqus and many other popular and not that popular social networks.

Effective communication in the present century requires us to build relationships by telling our stories and by providing high-value content to online community platforms or social networks, quite often with inexpensive, amateur content creation ( crowdsourced content) and various distribution tools.

Thanks to Web 2.0, we can now meet online and connect with people we never would have met before. Communications are incredibly cheap, faster, and more convenient than ever before.

Thanks to social media, ordinary people can now even influence elections. Social Media is a Big THING for everyone.

But not everything is beautiful and splendid.

We now live in a world increasingly connected and where social networking has made us all news sources. The latter means missteps and misinformation get regularly issued and repeated, more quickly than ever.

Social media and networks are continually developing. We now have blogs, VR, tags, vlogs, selfies, hashtags, virtual business cards, video-chats, gif’s, pins, photos, memes,self-deleting messages, and you name it…

We have almost everything, but the popular social networks are continuously developing, changing, and despite this, still lacking some things.

Do you think the same?

What is your opinion are things the social communities and media are still missing?

The Social Networks and Social Media of tomorrow will be different from the ones we know and use today.
