B2B, B2C, C2B or C2C? The most popular Business models and some examples
Do you know what is the difference between these 4 different types of business models B2B, B2C, C2B, and C2C?
Business-to-Business (B2B):
In this type of business, a company does business with another for-profit company.
As an example of a B2B model, imagine the interaction between a wholesaler and a retailer or a manufacturer and wholesaler. Business to business (B2B or B to B) refers to a business that is conducted between companies, rather than between a company and individual consumers or consumers (B2C).
Business-to-consumer (B2C):
The Business-to-Consumer business model is one of the most common types of business models where a business sells its products directly to the consumer and there is no third party involved in this type of interaction.
Take the example of Samsung that sells mobile phones to its users. This a B2C business model, and at the same time, you could look at the same example as a B2B (Business to Business model) since companies involved in selling some hardware components or software to Samsung will also be benefited (B2B).
More than seventy percent of all the businesses have that type of business model where they sell directly to their consumers.
Consumer-to-consumer (C2C):
The third type or Consumer-to-Consumer business model is when a consumer sells its own used product or hand made a product to another consumer.
Take the example of the popular e-commerce website Etsy, where people post their Item for sale and others can buy it. The deal and money transaction occurs between two consumers.
Consumer-to-Business (C2B):
In this type of business model, the Consumer or End User provides or sells its services or products to Business. The C2B model is the reverse of the B2C model, where businesses produce services and products and for consumers.
To describe this business model we will use YouTube as an example. Popular YouTubers sell their ad spaces to advertisers (Businesses), hence the interaction and money transactions occur from business to consumer.
